The firm
Small on purpose, precise by habit
Meridian Chambers was founded in 2014 by two lawyers who believed a client should never learn the cost of a matter from the final bill. The firm has stayed at three lawyers and one practice manager ever since.
Files are taken on only when a named lawyer can carry the matter personally from first call to completion. It is a slower way to grow a practice, and a better way to run one.

Before any work starts you receive the fee, the expected disbursements and the timeline in writing. If it is not on that page, it is not on your bill.
Disbursements, line by line
Stamp duty, searches and registration fees are listed separately in the quote, with receipts attached at completion. No lump sums, no rounding up.
A note every Friday
Every open file receives a short progress note at the end of the week, even when the honest update is that the bank has not replied yet.
