Terms of Service

These terms are written for busy business owners, not lawyers. Short clauses, plain language. If anything is unclear, ask us before you buy: michael@webx.my or message us on WhatsApp.

1. Who we are, and some definitions

1.1 WebX is a website subscription service operated by Pixl Digital (business registration 002880290-P), Malaysia. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Pixl Digital trading as WebX. "You" means the person or business buying the service.

1.2 A few defined terms, used throughout:

• Subscription: your annual WebX Standard plan, plus any recurring add-ons.
• Site: the website we build and host for you under the Subscription.
• Intake: the guided questionnaire where you tell us about your business and supply your content.
• Change Request: a request to update content on your existing Site pages, submitted through your account.
• My Website: your customer dashboard at app.webx.my.
• Cold Storage: the offline state your Site enters after a lapse, described in clause 8.

1.3 These terms apply from the moment you create an account. Paying for a Subscription means you accept them.

2. The service: what WebX Standard is

2.1 WebX Standard (RM599/year) includes:

• A 4-page static website, Home, About, Products/Services and Contact by default. Page titles and content are customisable during Intake.
• Hosting on your chosen address at subdomain.webx.my, with SSL.
• Contact-information sections: WhatsApp click-to-chat, phone, email, and address/map links. Customer sites carry no forms.
• Unlimited fair-use Change Requests while your Subscription is active (see clause 5).
• Per-site traffic stats and a Website Notes page in My Website.

2.2 Your Site is built by an automated AI pipeline with layered quality checks; humans step in on escalation, not on every site.

2.3 There is no builder, editor or CMS login. You never touch a builder: you tell us what to change, and we change it. That is the product.

2.4 Static-only scope. WebX builds informational websites. The following are out of scope and will not be built, on the initial Site or by Change Request: e-commerce checkouts, shopping carts, payment collection, booking or reservation systems, customer logins, member areas, databases, forms, forums, or any feature that stores or processes visitor data on your Site.

2.5 If you sell online, your Site can link out to where selling already works: WhatsApp Business chat and catalogue buttons, Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop links. See our guide "Sell online without complicating your website". If you need a full online operation, that is outside WebX: contact Pixl Digital about a separate custom engagement.

2.6 Delivery. After payment your Site shows a "building" status, and we email you the moment it is live. We do not promise a delivery time.

3. Acceptable content

3.1 We do not build, host or source imagery for websites in these categories:

• Religious content or organisations
• Cultural content or organisations
• Sexual or adult content of any kind
• Gambling, betting or lottery services
• Illegal products, services or activities under Malaysian law
• Political parties, campaigns or advocacy
• Hate, discrimination or harassment targeting any group
• Malware, phishing, scams, or deceptive or fraudulent schemes

3.2 Orders are screened at Intake, and content is screened again during generation and on every upload. If your order falls in a blocked category, we decline it and tell you by email.

3.3 We may decline any order at our discretion, including for reasons outside the list above. If we decline after you have paid, you receive a full refund.

3.4 If blocked content is discovered on a live Site (for example, introduced through a Change Request), we may suspend the Site while we resolve it with you.

4. Accounts and Intake

4.1 You sign in with Google or a magic email link. There are no passwords. Keep your email and Google account secure: anyone with access to them can access your WebX account.

4.2 Intake is resumable. Your answers save as you go, and you can return any time before submission.

4.3 If you start an Intake but stay inactive for 30 days, we mark the prospect as lost and stop sending reminders. Your account and your typed Intake answers are kept so you can always come back and resume.

4.4 File custody. Files you upload (logos, photos) are build inputs, not an archive:

• After each project completes (the initial build, a Design Refresh, or an Extra Page), the uploaded source files are automatically purged within 7 days.
• For lost prospects (clause 4.3), uploaded files are purged 7 days after the lost mark (day 37 of inactivity).
• My Website shows every file we currently hold, its auto-deletion date, and a delete-now button.

Keep your own originals. We do not act as your backup service.

5. Fair use of unlimited changes

5.1 Fair use means: changes to text, images, colours and section content within your existing pages.

5.2 Fair use does not cover:

• New pages: that is the Extra Page add-on (clause 6).
• Restyles or style-direction changes: that is the Design Refresh add-on. There is no free restyle and no free annual refresh.
• Features outside the static scope in clause 2.4: we will point you to the "sell online" guide or to Pixl Digital instead.

5.3 Most changes are completed within 1 business day. Unlimited does not mean instant.

5.4 If you submit 5 or more requests on the same topic within the same day, we offer you the option to speak to a technical support team member instead of continuing the automated loop. If you accept, expect a response within 1 business day.

6. Add-ons and pricing

6.1 Current products and prices (all in Malaysian Ringgit):

6.2 Extra Pages renew with your Site: each one adds RM99 to every annual renewal for as long as you keep it.

6.3 While a Site is suspended or in Cold Storage: ZIP Export and Existing-site archive remain purchasable; Extra Page, Design Refresh, Change Requests, and the Google setup add-ons are unavailable until you renew.

6.4 Prices may change. A price change never applies mid-term; it takes effect at your next renewal, and renewal reminders state the amount due.

7. Payment and renewal

7.1 The Subscription is annual and paid in advance. Depending on how you pay, your renewal works in one of two ways:

• Automatic renewal: card payments (for example, via Stripe) renew automatically each year. We send advance notices before charging.
• Manual renewal: bank transfer, e-wallet and similar payment methods cannot auto-charge. We send a series of reminder emails before your renewal date (starting about 90 days out) with a payment link or transfer instructions. Your renewal is recorded when payment is received.

7.2 If an automatic charge fails, your Site stays live for a 7-day dunning window while the charge is retried and we email you. If payment still fails after 7 days, the Site is suspended.

7.3 On manual renewal, if payment is not received by the expiry date, the Site is suspended on the day it expires. This is why the reminders start early.

7.4 Suspension is never a surprise: by the time it happens, you will have received multiple reminders.

8. Expiry, suspension and Cold Storage

8.1 When a Site is suspended, visitors see a neutral, branded "temporarily unavailable" page. It never says "unpaid". We do not shame your business in public.

8.2 First 14 days of suspension: pay the renewal and your Site comes back immediately. No extra fee.

8.3 Day 14: the Site moves to Cold Storage. The rendered site files are removed from our hosting, but we retain the Site's canonical build record and its processed image assets, and your subdomain stays reserved.

8.4 Cold Storage lasts 12 months from expiry. At any point during it, you can reactivate: pay the renewal plus the RM99 reactivation fee, and your Site is rebuilt from its stored state and put back online at its subdomain.

8.5 After 12 months: we send a final warning email. If you do not act, the Site's stored state and image assets are permanently deleted and the subdomain is released for reuse. Before deletion you may purchase a ZIP Export (RM99) to take a full copy.

8.6 Deletion is permanent. After it, the Site cannot be restored at any price.

9. Cancellation

9.1 You may cancel at any time. Your Site stays live until the end of the paid term; you keep what you paid for.

9.2 At term end, a cancelled Site enters the same lifecycle as an expired one (clause 8): suspension, the 14-day fee-free change-of-mind window, Cold Storage, and deletion after 12 months. We skip the reminder emails, since you chose to leave.

9.3 Cancellation does not include a free copy of your website. Taking your Site with you is the ZIP Export product (RM99, 7-day download link), purchasable before and during Cold Storage.

10. Refunds

10.1 7-day money-back on new Sites. You may request a full refund of a new WebX Standard purchase within 7 days of the "your site is live" email, provided:

• no Change Request has been submitted for the Site, and
• no custom domain has been connected to it.

On refund, the Site is taken down.

10.2 Once you connect a custom domain, the 7-day money-back no longer applies.

10.3 Renewals are refundable within 14 days of the charge, provided the renewal period is unused, no Change Requests submitted and no add-ons consumed since the charge.

10.4 One-off add-ons that have been delivered (a Design Refresh applied, an export generated, a Google setup completed) are not refundable.

10.5 We keep records of builds, Change Requests and delivery emails, and we use them as evidence in payment disputes and chargebacks.

11. Custom domains

11.1 The managed domain service (RM199/year) covers registering a domain in your name, and managing its DNS and SSL for the life of the service. You are the registrant and owner. If you already own a domain, free self-serve connection instructions are available instead.

11.2 Billing is buffered. Your managed-domain renewal falls due about 30 days before the domain's registration anniversary. When you pay, we renew the registration the same day. We never advance registration fees on your behalf: if you have not paid by the registration anniversary, the domain lapses on the registrar's normal schedule.

11.3 What lapse actually means. Real timelines, because the consequences are severe:

• .com / .net / .org: your website and email on that domain stop working at expiry. Normal-price renewal is only possible during a registrar grace window, as little as 10 days, at most 45. After that comes a ~30-day redemption period costing US$80-200 on top of the renewal. Roughly 70-75 days after expiry, the domain is deleted and publicly released; aged business domains are routinely caught by automated drop-catchers within seconds and parked or resold. Some registrars auction expiring domains to third parties before they even drop. Recovery may be impossible.
• .my / .com.my: suspension can be same-day at expiry (website and email dark). Grace is 30-45 days depending on registrar; redemption costs roughly double the annual fee (about RM160-300 all-in); then a 5-day pending-delete, after which the name is first-come, first-served.

11.4 If a managed domain enters redemption and you want it back, the registrar's redemption fee is passed through at cost. We do not mark it up.

11.5 Product independence. The managed domain and the website are separate subscriptions. A paid domain outlives a lapsed Site (it points at the suspended page), and your Site lives on at subdomain.webx.my if the domain lapses.

11.6 We monitor the registration expiry of every connected custom domain, managed or self-managed, show the date in Website Notes, and alert you when a domain is under 60 days from expiry.

11.7 We change web DNS records only, never email (MX) records. WebX does not offer or manage email hosting. Your website and your email are separate things; see our guide on choosing an email provider.

12. Subdomains

12.1 Subdomain names must be 3-30 characters, using only lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.

12.2 Names that are reserved, infrastructure-related, or that imitate banks, government bodies or well-known brands are blocked or held for manual review. We may refuse any name.

12.3 Your subdomain is claimed at payment. You get one free rename; further renames are at our discretion.

12.4 When a Subscription lapses, the subdomain enters a 12-month quarantine that runs alongside the Cold Storage window (clause 8): it stays reserved for you the whole time, and is released for reuse only after deletion.

13. Content ownership and intellectual property

13.1 Your content stays yours. Everything you supply (text, photos, logo, business information) remains your property. You grant us a licence to store, process and display it for the purpose of providing the service.

13.2 The website copy generated for your Site is assigned to you on payment. It is yours to keep and reuse.

13.3 Our pattern library, design system, templates, code and build pipeline remain ours. Your ownership covers your Site's content, not the machinery that builds and serves it.

13.4 Stock imagery placed on your Site is used under its respective licence; it is licensed for use on your Site, not assigned to you for separate use.

13.5 You warrant that everything you upload or ask us to publish is yours to use: you own it or hold the necessary rights, and it infringes no one's copyright, trademark or other rights.

13.6 Indemnity. If a third party brings a claim against us because of content you supplied, you agree to cover our losses and costs arising from that claim.

14. Our infrastructure may change

14.1 We choose the hosting and serving infrastructure behind your Site, and we may change providers or architecture at any time without notice, provided the service you receive remains materially the same. Your Site is rebuilt from our canonical records, so such changes do not affect your content or your address.

15. Uptime, no SLA

15.1 We use reasonable efforts to keep Sites online and use reputable infrastructure providers, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

15.2 There is no service-level agreement, and no credits, refunds or compensation are payable for downtime.

16. Liability, law and changes to these terms

16.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims in any 12-month period is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the first claim.

16.2 We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business, or loss of data you failed to keep your own copy of.

16.3 Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Malaysian law.

16.4 These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction.

16.5 We may update these terms. Material changes are notified by email to the address on your account, with the version and date shown at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
